District offices are state offices, so they close on California state holidays — which is a different list from the courts’ (the judicial branch also observes Lincoln’s Birthday; state offices don’t). This matters past planning a trip: a period ending on a holiday or weekend generally extends to the next business day under Code Civ. Proc. §§12, 12a, which the deadline calculator now flags.
Juneteenth and Lincoln’s Birthday are left off on purpose — both are elective or personal holidays for state employees rather than office closures. Individual offices can also close for reasons that aren’t on any calendar; call ahead if a filing turns on it.
